Review: Bailey Pursuit 430-4

December 29, 2014

Bailey Caravans has taken the best from their old Orion and Olympus caravans and put it all in their new Bailey pursuit, making this little caravan a force to be reckoned with. This lightweight four berth will provide you with great value for your money and can easily go toe-to-toe with its market rivals without even breaking a sweat. Let’s take a closer look at the Bailey Pursuit 430-4.

The Pursuit range has been given a new shell based on the sexy curves of the Orion. Like all Bailey caravans, it uses their patented Alu-Tech construction, which provides better defence against leaks than conventional methods. The double glazed sunroof is optional, but lets a ton of daylight into the caravan’s lovely interior, making the Pursuit bright and roomy.

On the inside, the Bailey Pursuit offers you a lounge at the front that can be converted into a spacious double bed, an amidships kitchen, fixed double beds towards the end and a full back bathroom – which is a rarity in small entry level caravans. Although it’s a matter of personal preference, we loved how comfortable the sprung mattresses were. The kitchen comes as standard with a 3 burner hob, an oven/grill, a sink and a three way fridge/freezer. A 300w microwave is included in the premium pack – and hot water and heating for the Bailey Pursuit is provided by the duel fuel Truma Combi system. The furnishings all come in Bailey’s signature walnut, and the work surfaces are a lovely dark shade. Although it’s clear that the designers at Bailey Caravans have tried to keep costs down, the Bailey Pursuit 430-4 is not lacking anything. The essentials are all there and, despite being a smaller caravan, there’s plenty of manoeuvring space and an undeniable air of luxury about this little beauty.

Prices for the Bailey Pursuit 430-4 starts at £13,240, which is absolutely brilliant value for money. The light weight of the Pursuit helps to keep fuel costs down and ensure that the caravan can be pulled by any type of car. This Bailey caravan was designed to compete with the likes of the Sprite and the Xplore, and does so very well. If you’re new to caravanning and looking for an entry level model that does the job without scrimping or compromising, the Bailey Pursuit 430-4 is the caravan for you.
